The Columbus brand has been in South Africa since the 1930s with a reputation initially built on the reliable and trusted Columbus Polisher.

The Company has changed hands several times and in 1994 was bought from Unilever by management.

Through customer demand, it has since branched into the manufacture and supply of rotary polishing and scrubbing machines, the supply of vacuum cleaners, cleaning accessories, trolley systems and manufacture and supply of floorcare dressings and cleaning chemicals.

Columbus has a network of branches and distributors throughout the country, focusing on the supply of cleaning equipment, accessories and the supply of floorcare dressings and cleaning chemicals into schools, hospitals, commerce and industry, kitchen, canteens, food factories, car cleaning outlets and the contract cleaning industry.
